SYLA has been in existence since 1995, operating camps and clinics for boys and girls in grades 1-12. Our primary objectives are to introduce the game of lacrosse to all players in Stamford and to continue to develop the individual into a more skilled player in all aspects of the game. We incorporate a variety of drills and games which reinforce these skills. Individual instruction combined with team play are essential components to the overall progress and development of the player.Proper catching, throwing and shooting techniques are stressed which will enable the participant to be a more complete and confident lacrosse player.
We have a dedicated staff of current and former college lacrosse players. Some of these coaches have been All Americans as college players. Each coach has the expertise and knowledge of the specific positions ( midfield, attack, defense and goaltender) which will create a higher skilled player with a better awareness of the game.
